Faith Baptist Church seeks to make disciples in ever expanding “spheres” as outlined by Jesus’ proclamation to His disciples in Acts 1:8, in which He states: “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” By identifying a local church in His statement – the church at Jerusalem – Jesus admonishes all local churches to be involved in the universal mission of carrying His Good News to every man, woman, and child. Coupled with His Great Commission, it can be deduced that as this work continues to ripple into often dark and unreached spaces, new people are engaged and evangelized, while growing believers are established and equipped. Therefore, FBC’s mission and vision statement imply the organizing of disciples into healthy churches that will continue Jesus’ work for God’s glorious worship and the love of all peoples.
Furthermore, our goal in our immediate sphere is to utilize numerous “spaces” to increase the possible contact points and educational opportunities. The three primary discipleship spaces can be identified by size: corporate worship on Sunday mornings, the Sunday school hour, and small groups.
